Care:

Coat care:

Cats groom their own fur by licking it regularly. The Bengal has no undercoat and therefore hardly sheds. They do not undergo a molting period. If you still want to do something to remove loose hair, a slightly wet tissue works very well.

It is also important to check your cat regularly for all kinds of things, such as the presence of fleas, ticks or wounds.

The ears:

Check weekly for excessive earwax. After all, this could indicate ear problems, such as mites or an ear infection. Never use cotton swabs to clean the ears!

The eyes:

If necessary, clean it with a slightly wet tissue. In case of serious problems such as pus, please consult your veterinarian.

The teeths:

Cats can have dental problems. Try to keep an eye on whether a lot of plaque accumulates and whether the cat has tartar. In that case, the veterinarian can clean the teeth if necessary to prevent problems or you can adjust the diet. Food in which the teeth have to work more and less plaque remains behind is very suitable for this.

The nails:

Cats are hunters and therefore have sharp nails. Especially when playing, a cat can sometimes react fiercely. Keep that in mind. Sharp nails can be cut by shortening the tip of the nails with a special nail scissors. This works best when this is learned from kitten.

When cutting the nail, attention must be paid to not cutting too far. In that case it will bleed which is sometimes difficult to stop. When you look at the nail you can see where you can cut without hurting the cat. The white is the nail, you can safely cut it away. Be careful not to cut into the pink part! If you do not dare to do this yourself, you can also have this done by your veterinarian.
