De Black tabby Bengaal:

In Bengal, the most common (original) color is called the Brown Bengal or Black tabby Bengal. This can be found with various types of print such as spotted, marbled and rozetted.

By performing a DNA color test, a Bengal can be tested for the B Locus. This test indicates how much and how the black pigment in the coat is visible.

Normally this is with a Bengal full color, so brown. In an exceptional case, it can be chocolate or cinnamon.

The color brown is dominant over cinnamon and chocolate.

These results can come from the test:

  • B/B = Full color, the most common result

  •  B/b = Full color, carrier of chocolate

  • B/b1= Full color, carrier of cinnamon

  • b/b = chocolate

  • b/b1= chocolate, carrier of cinnamon

  • b1/b1= cinnamon

Below are the possibilities in a diagram.
