Zijn tabby-markeringen in niet-agouti-variëteiten, die meestal zwakker zijn en minder contrast hebben, en die door sommigen als ongewenst beschouwd worden. Ghostmarkings komen dus voor bij de Melanistic Bengaal, de Smoke Bengaal en de Solid Bengalen.

Niet-agouti of non-agouti is eigenlijk een effen vacht en word in de kleurengenetica omschreven als a/a

Het non-agouti gen (a) is een recessief gen en is te vinden op de A-locus.

(Hierop vind je ook het dominante agouti gen A)

Om een effen vacht te bekomen, moet het kitten zowel van moeder als van vader het a gen krijgen.

Are tabby markings in non-agouti varieties, which are usually weaker and have less contrast, and which are considered undesirable by some. Ghostmarkings thus occur in the Melanistic Bengal, the Smoke Bengal and the Solid Bengals.
 

Non-agouti is actually a solid coat and is described in color genetics as a/a

The non-agouti gene (a) is a recessive gene and is found on the A-locus.

In order to obtain a plain coat, the kitten must receive the a gene from both parents.
